Scalloped Potatoes

Here’s some good ol’ fashioned comfort food for you to go along well with any main dish.  The best thing of all is it is so very quick and simple.

Clean, peel and thinly slice {irish} potatoes.

Lightly grease/butter a baking dish or casserole dish.

Other ingredients needed:

  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 1 onion diced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 Tablespoons flour
  • 1-1/4 cup milk

In a small saucepan, melt butter and add onions and garlic until soft.  Add salt, pepper, and flour and stir.  Then add the milk and cook until bubbly and thick.  Layer potatoes in dish, top with sauce and report again finishing with sauce on top.  I added an extra little splash of milk into the dish to keep it moist.

Bake at 350F (175C) for about 40 minutes, covered until potatoes are tender.  Enjoy!
